Ingredients
  • 2 quarts chicken broth
  • 2 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • ⅔ cup barley
  • ⅓ cup rice
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Step: 1 Take a large pot and drive the chicken broth to a boil. Stir the chicken, celery, carrots, onion, barley, rice, salt, and pepper into the broth. Lessen the heat to medium-high and cook for about 20 minutes till the chicken and rice are cooked through. Then alter the salt and pepper to taste, serve hot.
