slow-cooker barbecue ribs

A great easy and flavoursome way to make tender barbecued ribs without the barbecue!

Ingredients
  • 4 pounds of mutton ribs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup chili sauce
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dash of hot sauce

Step: 1 First preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Step: 2 Then season the ribs with salt and pepper, and put in a shallow baking pan. Brown them in the oven for 15 minutes. Turn them over, and brown them for the next 15 minutes, drain fat.

Step: 3 Take a medium bowl, to mix the ketchup, chili sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and salt and pepper. Then settle the ribs in a slow cooker. Spill the sauce over ribs, and turn to coat.

Step: 4 Cover, and cook them on Low for around 6 to 8 hours, or till the ribs are tender, serve with your favourite sauce.
