Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 3 pounds of ground beef
  • 1 (3 pounds) whole cooked chicken, deboned and shredded
  • 3 (14.5 ounces) cans of whole peeled tomatoes with liquid, chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ½ cup hickory-flavored barbecue sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 medium green bell pepper
  • 3 (14.75 ounces) cans cream style corn
Brunswick stew method

Step: 1 Heat the oil over medium heat in a large stockpot, and then add the onions and celery, cook, and stir for about 5 minutes till translucent. Mix in beef, cook, and stir for about 10 minutes till evenly browned and crumbly. Do not drain.

Step: 2 Now add the shredded chicken, tomatoes and their liquid, ketchup, barbecue sauce, hot sauce, salt, and pepper. Drown whole green pepper in the mixture. Lessen the heat to low and cook, stirring at times for about 2 hours till thickened.

Step: 3 After that stir in corn and keep continue to cook for one hour, or to a suitable consistency. Take out the green pepper; chop and return to the stew or discard. Serve straight away!
