classic goulash

Make this meaty goulash recipe, which can be easily made on the stovetop, and also can be done in a slow cooker. This recipe is inspired by Paula Deen’s Bobby’s Goulash.

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans of tomato sauce
  • 2 (14.5 ounces) cans of diced tomatoes
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dried Italian herb seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned salt, or to taste
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni

Step: 1 Take a large Dutch oven and put it over medium-high heat to heat olive oil in it. Then add the onion and cook for 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Now add ground beef and cook for about 5 minutes, breaking up the meat till it becomes evenly browned, add the garlic and cook for 3 minutes stirring frequently.

Step: 2 Now stir in water, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, soy sauce, Italian seasoning, seasoned salt, and bay leaves. Drive it to a simmer, cover, and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring midway through.

Step: 3 Stir to mix in uncooked macaroni, cover, and boil gently over medium for around 11 to 13 minutes heat till the pasta is tender, stirring at times. Take off from heat, cast off the bay leaves, and serve straight away.
